Ahhh, the weekend. Time to rest, relax and ..... go to the doctor. A lot.

I mentioned in my last post that Geo was coughing a lot. We took him to the pediatrician on Saturday, and lo and behold for the *very first time* Geo actually has a somewhat serious illness. Usually his ped looks at me like the over-anxious mother I am and tells me it's just a head cold and to clean his nose with saline solution. But yesterday he was diagnosed with a foyer pulmonaire, which is French for "localized lung problem", ie, bronchitis/bronchiolitis. From the pediatrician's office we booked it to the radiologist's office, which luckily was still open and luckily fit us in at the very last minute. The chest X-ray was clear, happily, which means we caught this infection early. He's on antibiotics and had a physical therapy session today to help clear his lungs (they tap on the lungs, make him blow out air through a straw, etc, to try to clear out the lungs). One more session and he should be much better.

It's been a little stressful, though, and everyone keeps warning us to keep him away from Mazen. Easier said than done since he loves his baby brother and wants to kiss and pat him all the time, not to mention give him his pacifier and "help" him play with his toys. Sigh.

So that was our adventure this weekend. Let's hope next weekend is much, much duller!
